My wifi ran a lot more smoothly, even my old laptop I purchased it in ran quicker with the new extender. After about a half hour of usage my internet browser just refused to load!!
I had to restart the computer. I about returned this thing. Did some research that evening on my cell phone tested my wifi on multiple devices and with the new extender everything ran BETTER so it wasn't MY wifi network or router this time.
After some more digging the next day I decided to reset my Windows I came to the conclusion that the first time around when I set up my new computer I had set it up in a dead zone and was not properly or consistently hooked up to my wifi and something just went wrong in the installation process.
Today, Christmas Day, I reset my Windows 10 and everything is functioning as it should! So why the 5-star rating?? The computer is a dream if it is set up properly!! I have actually enjoyed Windows 10 so far on this All-In-One versus on my laptop when I was hijacked and forced into upgrading from Windows 7 to the new OS.
My old laptop was an HP Pavilion and trust me I have gotten my money's worth out of it. I am NOT a gamer nor do I utilize a computer for any editing video, music, or image so I cannot attest to how this thing keeps up with those needs.
I needed a basic home computer to utilize for web browsing, classes, and home book-keeping. I should've tested the wifi in the area I was setting it up first-hand, or set it up temporarily next to the router to make sure everything had set up properly without any wifi disruption.
That was on me. I recommend you download an app and test your wifi connection in whatever area of your home you decide to set up your All-In-One Computer. My home office is down a long hallway, and there are at least 4 walls, a water heater and a furnace between the computer and my wifi router I wish I had known a year ago when I had the cable guy set up the router in the living room.

Maybe ya'll just have some bad WIFI cause my computer turns on quickly and loads websites quickly. I use it for homework and YouTube and I edit videos on it and it's pretty fast so when reading the reviews it scared me but I took a risk, so if you are thinking about buying this computer make sure you look at all the people who said it works great too and don't get to hung up on the people who said it sucks.
I only give it 4 stars because there is a light humming noise. I figure it is a computer and has to make some noise when on but I just get irritated quickly.

The monitor is large and the machine functions well for his amount of use. The keyboard is a bit flimsy for my taste, but my husband says it's fine for him. All in all a good purchase.
Comment 23 people found this helpful. Great product especially for the price point. If you were looking for a good all in one computer, something to get the daily tasks done with, then this might be it. Don't buy this computer expecting to run all the latest video games at high frames per second.
Because it won't do that, but it has just enough processing power to multitask with all of your daily things that you do such as email, browsing the Internet, Running Microsoft office programs.
Overall it's a really good deal for really good price, I especially like it because of how compact it is, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking in this price range for an all in one computer.

Finally, I tried to upgrade my Geforce graphics card because I found that it was running as if it was interfaced to a pci express x8 slot on the motherboard. My manual, as well as one of the Dell contacts, guaranteed it is a pci express x16 slot which runs 2 times as fast as the x8.
I thought that a newer card would work faster because it is meant to run with in a cpi x16 slot.. My new card has gddr5 memory and was rated at 2. The new card was dumbed down to x8.
Dell says its the card how can that be when gddr5 memory is the latest and can be used in 3,0 rated express slots? I contacted EVGA and they said it was the computer because the card can be 'dumbed' down by the motherboard.
None of the Dell reps ever tried to see if the driver supplying the dedicated pci express slot is a pci x8 driver. I sound like I'm whining and I probably am. If anybody reading this review has any ideas let me know.

I read numerous reviews of it on Amazon and found no surprises except for the doozy noted below. Reviews indicated this pc arrives with little bloatware, so I should have been suspicious when I immediately noticed about a dozen icons on the desktop for gMail, Facebook, Fast Browser, and other programs I can't recall or didn't recognize.
But the pc setup was a snap and very fast, as anticipated, so I plowed ahead. When I began running into issues accessing sites on the web, I noticed there was something strange about Internet Explorer and its icon.
Apparently it had been hijacked by Fast Browser, so I set about trying to rid the pc of that. I finally got it uninstalled, but it left a toolbar which continued to cause problems. I was on the verge of re-packing the pc and returning it to Amazon, but decided to try the Restore and Recovery option first.
After that, it was smooth sailing. I am certain those programs did not install while I was setting up the computer, so I am speculating that the pc itself or at least the hard-drive had been returned to either Dell or Amazon before it found its way to me, even though it was sold to me as "new".
I am unhappy about that, but have no way to know who to be angry at about it. Others seem impressed by the "tray" on top of the case with the two USB connectors, apparently designed for resting phones etc while they are charging.
I have long used the top of my pc case to rest my keyboard when not in use. I quickly found that I could not do that with a USB wire plugged in at the required angle on the top.
I filled them up and can still rest my keyboard on top, so I'm very happy with those connectors. The monitor does have a dvi-d connection. I finally located the DVI cable that came with the monitor and to my delight it not only fit the XPS, but my monitor was immediately recognized and functioning.
Overall, the setup could not have been easier--except for that one little issue. I also ordered a ssd to install. I found it very easy to install even though I had only been inside a computer case once before.
I was heartened to see that most connectors and slots inside were either clearly labeled or very intuitive. It isn't quite easy enough for a caveman to do it, but it's getting there.
With an ssd added, this pc really flies. I quickly discovered why so many people seem to hate Windows 8. I fumbled around 8. I am slowly beginning to use the "new" interface of 8. In summary, I love the computer itself, but am very aggravated that it seems I was sold a product that had been returned.
I am guessing that whoever picked up the Fast Browser via Facebook from what I read about it could not remove it and chose to return the pc instead. I think this pc will meet my needs for some time.
While there is no such thing as "future-proofing" these things, it appears to be easily upgradable and expandable enough to keep me happy for a while. I would have given this product a lower rating due to my unpleasant experience described above.
That issue consumed several hours of my time unnecessarily. Returning it probably would have been an even more aggravating process. However, the computer itself has been excellent since I restored it to its factory state, so I rated it accordingly.

Please try again later. Win10 upgrade offered shortly after release. Then install media was created and a clean install was done. The computer is dual boot Win10 and Kubuntu Kubuntu worked fine, but Win10 had regular frozen screens and reboots.
This upgrade seems to have fixed all problems. The a10 processor is very fast for our needs and the video is crisp and clean on a Dell monitor. Surfing the web is very snappy. Facebook, Chrome, Thunderbird, and Pageplus can all run simultaneously very quickly.
In Kubuntu it zips right along. Maybe gamers might like more video speed, but for all other computer needs this is a very fast computer. With three Asus computers, I think it can be said, we are converts. I always look hard for the best deals.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later. But ultimately a disappointment. Have been using this for about 2 weeks and am very satisfied. The screen unit is nice and lightweight much lighter than the HP Pavilion all-in-one that it replaced.
The performance is good, more than enough for browsing, email, writing documents, viewing photos, watching streaming video and the like. The keyboard and mouse that came with the unit are both corded and fairly low-budget, so I replaced them with one of the Logitech cordless desktop keyboard and mouse package combo units and it immediately worked fine with that after automatically loading the drivers.
It comes preloaded with Windows 10 Home Edition, which I was already familiar with, so no learning curve on that part. All in all a very nice choice, and it was shipped very quickly and arrived sooner than I expected.
